CSSA ELECTIONS!!
Holy cow, you mean I can run for a position on the CSSA?! Finally!
May 19, 2008
CALLING ALL PEOPLE INTERESTED IN THE CSSA! Want to plan awesome academic, social, and professional events and build the cognitive science community at UCSD? Run for a position to be part of next year's CSSA Eboard! Check out the "OPEN POSITIONS" link under each committee on our website and feel free to email any of the board with questions.
Whether or not you're interested in being on Eboard, come out to our elections on May 21 and vote!
Check out the Open Positions page for more info on the positions.
If you are interested in running for a position please answer the following questions (email them to cssa.ucsd@gmail.com) by the end of the day on May 18th:
-
What position(s) are you interested in running for?
-
Why are you interested in running for this position?
-
What qualities do you possess that will make you a strong candidate for this position?
-
What are your plans for increasing and retaining the membership for CSSA?
-
Describe a difficult situation you have had to overcome with a team/group and how you handled the situation. How did your leadership skills help resolve the issue(s)?
-
Hypothetically, your idea is rejected, but you think that it is valid. How do you react in this situation?
NOTE, you will also have to give a short blurb at the elections for the people that show up. These questions make great topics for blurbs.
Optionally, these questions are likely to be asked at elections.
-
Do you have a new event that you would like to organize for CSSA?There are lots of directions for the cssa to grow.
-
Which areas would you like to see strengthened, and what are your priorities?
-
Have you been involved in other organizations on campus? If so, which ones?
-
What have been your strengths and weaknesses in leadership positions?
-
How responsible are you? Prove it. :)

Thank you to everyone for making winter quarter awesome! This quarter, we discovered that Rock Band and nachos make for very happy cogsci students (and really, what more do you need?) Thanks for all of your support, we really appreciate it!
Spring quarter is going to be even more amazing; we have the COGNITIVE SCIENCE CONFERENCE on April 5th and tons of fun and informative events, so keep an eye out for more details!
Thanks again, good luck on finals, and have a great spring break!
